I’m a senior at Syracuse University, majoring in newspaper, with a minor in political science. When I arrived on the Syracuse campus as a freshman, I didn’t know what a nut graph was. I discovered The Daily Orange, though, and fell in love with journalism and the craziness that is the newsroom.
I wrote quirky stories, including one about the Oscar Meyer Weinermobile, as well as in-depth reports about campus security and the university judicial system.
A native of South Jersey, I used the summers to hone my skills at two suburban Philadelphia papers -The Delaware County Daily Times and the Courier-Post. Now, I’m embarking on a new challenge – covering national news in Washington.
Although I’m not sure what lies ahead, I’d love to come back to Washington after graduation. Eventually, I’d like to be a foreign correspondent.
When I’m not writing, I’m reading. After spending last fall studying in London and traveling around Europe, I’ve fallen in love with Bill Bryson’s travel books. My favorite TV shows are Will and Grace and Whose Line Is It Anyway? (The British Version).
