The release of George W. Bush’s diary has shed light on his feelings about freedom, John McCain and the GOP convention. Also, the announcement that a group of three performers, known as the “Bushettes,” has been hired to accompany George W. on speeches and debates, is big news in Philadelphia.
At least this is how things seem at Absolute Ideas, Billionaires for Bush (or Gore), and Modern Humorist, Inc. These groups have web pages that cover the Republican National Convention and the 2000 electoral race in very non-traditional ways.
Absolute Ideas is behind www.bushoncrack.com, (also known as dubyadubyadubya.bushoncrack.com) which revealed the “Bushettes,” and Al Gore’s counterattack with the “Goreditas”. They also announced Bush’s new campaign slogan: “Love me, I’m a moderate. Oppress Different.”
This same group came up with a similar site for Al Gore. His campaign is reviewed on www.goreventura2000.com, where it was announced that the governor of Minnesota, Jesse Ventura, would be Gore’s running mate.
The saying “Because Inequality is not Growing Fast Enough,” belongs to Billionaires for Bush (or Gore). They encourage people to vote for either candidate, since they both have a “big commitment to economic inequality.” This group’s platform, their anthem and other political party-like items can be found at www.billionairesforbushorgore.com.
When a revised version of the convention schedule was handed out, the web site listed the new agenda as including “a speech by Mrs. Bush on improving education in our schools and in our governors' mansions,” as well as a correction stating that “the flag hanging over the West Entrance will be the American flag, not the Confederate flag as previously stated. We apologyze for any confusion.”
The author of the schedule was Modern Humorist, Inc, found at www.modernhumorist.com. Their page contains a special RNC section, with items ranging from George W.’s diary to a delegate guide to Philadelphia.
Elephants at the zoo and police responses to protest chants like: “Two, four, six, eight, Gary Graham was murdered by the Texas state!” are some of the suggestions on the guide for security and places to visit during the convention.
