The public voted for the name on the zoo’s Facebook page.
In a landslide victory,Loki gathered 575 votes,followed by Nando with 153,Orejas with 106 and Sumaq with 80.
Loki refers to the Norse god of mischief. Zoo officials say Loki has a mischievous character,particuarly when he tries to swipe food from his mother,Chula.
Loki is the National Zoo’s first surviving baby black howler monkey. He was born March 22.
