“We actually had really sweet tickets to the front of the red zone,but right at the last minute,as we were walking through security,[Hanna’s] friend decided he wanted these tickets,” Stewart said.
The tickets were in the front of the seating area and were originally meant for Hanna and his wife,but Hanna gave them to the two American University students when he decided he didn’t want them. A twist of fate swept the tickets away at the last moment.
Both looked forward to what Obama had to say in his inaugural address.
“I’m stoked for the speech,” Webster said.
Stewart added,“Yeah,we’re leaving after the speech.”
Though this was Webster’s first time attending an inauguration,the pair had no plans to stay to hear singers Kelly Clarkson and Beyoncé perform.
Stewart,who found out Monday that he will be attending the University of Edinburgh next year for graduate school,hopes to return to the Capitol one day
“I liked working on the Hill,so I’d definitely come back here,” he said.
