Chris Stewart - Fall 2000

Born and raised in Columbia, MD, Chris is currently a senior at Hampton University. Chris has held a variety of positions at his campus newspaper The Hampton Script over the past two years including staff writer, campus news editor and associate editor. At the NABJ convention over the summer, he accepted an award from the Black College Communications Association (BCCA) for the best in-depth story. Chris' passion for journalism is the embedded in the search for truth, justice, and the liberation of the Black and oppressed people of Amerikkka primarily, and the world secondarily. After Scripps Howard, Chris plans on becoming a metro/community affairs and justice reporter. He has a great love for his God, his family, his people and the Black community and always puts them first and foremost in his writing. In his spare time, he likes to write, read, interact with others (especially females), cook, listen to music and travel.
