Wyoming Improved Drunk-Driving Prevention Noted MADD Study

WASHINGTON _ For its efforts to curb drunk driving, Wyoming has risen to a C- grade, says a report by Mothers Against Drunk Driving.

That's up from a D+ for Wyoming in 1996, when it was the lowest scoring state in the country.

"I'm optimistic because we have had an increase," said Toni Reichanbach, state director of victim's services for the Wyoming chapter of MADD.

The group released its national and state report cards on Tuesday. The country overall got a C+, up from a C. "Drunk driving continues to be the most frequently committed violent crime in our country," said Karolyn Nunnallee, national president of MADD, at a press conference in Washington.
