WASHINGTON - Before Ladies' Home Journal readers register their vote for president Nov. 2, they must make a similar choice at the newsstand.
The August issue of the women's magazine features in-depth interviews with President and Laura Bush and presumptive Democratic nominee John Kerry and his wife Teresa Heinz Kerry. Although the interviewees are given equal play in all copies of the magazine, half of newsstand copies will feature the Bushes on the cover. The other half will display the Kerrys.
Despite the competing covers, the magazine does not plan to keep track of which candidate's cover sells better.
