WASHINGTON - The earthquake in China and tropical cyclone in Burma have left the world scrambling to pick up the pieces and former residents of both countries worrying about friends and relatives.
"I just want our country to open up," said Jane Tinpe, a Burmese resident in Washington who was critical of her country's slow response to the devastating storm that has left thousands of people dead.
