BOSTON – Texas Democrats are eager to welcome George W. Bush home if it means his exit from the Oval Office.
Linda Figueroa, a first-time delegate to the Democratic National Convention that began here Monday, said she'd be happy to see Bush come back to his Crawford ranch permanently “as long as he's not in the White House.”
Even though Texas has received relatively little attention from John Kerry's campaign because it is a Republican stronghold, enthusiasm was high at the delegation's Monday morning meeting.
Charles Soechting, head of the delegation and state Democratic Party chairman, started out by setting a goal: to make George Bush unemployed. The Texas Democrats responded with cheers.
