BOSTON - The New Mexico governor came to the Texas delegation Thursday morning, salsa in tow.
For the Texans, Bill Richardson was the morning meeting's highlight, as they put aside other activities to accommodate his schedule. As he has all week, Richardson gave away bottles of salsa with his picture on the label.
Because Texas is considered a Republican stronghold, Richardson said, "We're going to surprise them, right? In fact, isn't Texas a main battleground state?"
The Texas delegates cheered at this, but Richardson quickly said with a laugh, "Let's not overdo it."
