Cookies, with love and chocolate chips, made for orphans

WASHINGTON – Mix 4.5 pounds of flour, 2 pounds of margarine, 6 cups of white and brown sugar with vanilla, salt, baking powder and 4 cups of chocolate chips. Add a lot of love. Bake for 10 minutes. Makes 12 dozen cookies. Repeat until there are 6,000 cookies for 500 orphans.

“They need this kind of support,” said Eileen McCaffrey, executive director of the Orphan Foundation, adding it is the first time the group has done such a project on this scale.
