A few delegates join protesters outside Democrats convention hall

BOSTON - A handful of delegates abandoned the floor and headed for the barbed wire enclosure outside Wednesday to air their discontent at protesters being "caged."

Out in the cool, damp weather, delegates who came to Boston to nominate their presidential candidate, instead turned protesters and demonstrated against the confinement of protesters at the 2004 Democratic National Convention.

"We are here to protest the protest zone. We should be the ones to be caged, not protesters" said Jason Sawatzki, a delegate from Seattle.

Protests have been confined to a fenced-off area under an old elevated railroad track next to the FleetCenter during the convention, angering many groups, some of which moved their protests to other parts of town.
